This popular street-style trend of last year is now hitting the high fashion runways once again appearing at the BCBG Max Azria, DKNY and Diane von Fuerstenberg Spring/Summer 2014 runways. The trend which originated from the mid 80’s made it’s first big reappearance on the spring/summer 2013 runways, and seems to be back to stay. From boxy full midriff-baring, to feminine bustiers to simple tees, crop tops popped up all over New York Fashion Week in all shapes and sizes.
An already big trend on the 2014 red carpets, the sheer paneling and overlays trend seems like it’s not going anywhere soon. Seen at Calvin Klein, Burberry, Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang, the size of the sheer fabric varies from sections of the garment( similar to an alternative of the big 2013 trend: the cutout) as seen at Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang to fully sheer as seen at Burberry
The Fringe already had it’s five minutes of fame this year at the Coachella Music Festival where stars such as Kendall Jenner, Nina Dobrev and Vanessa Hudgens rocked it on bags, shoes and outerwear. Now, the boho look is moving to high-end brands including Altuzarra, Proenza Schouler and Calvin Klein, where the fringed look was seen rocking the runways
